One of the many things I love about what I do is the wonderful people I get to meet. One of those people happens to be Katie Dillon, owner and author of La Jolla Mom blog. I happened across La Jolla Mom one day while surfing the web and loved her site. She always has great tips, recipes and articles. It’s fun to stop by and see what’s new. I also follow her on twitter so I get all the most up to date tips as well :)
I recently had the chance to shoot some new headshots for her and thought it would be fun to do a little blog post so that all of you could get a chance to know a little bit about La Jolla Mom :)

I hope you enjoy getting to know La Jolla Mom as much as I have!

Get to know a little bit about La Jolla Mom .

I originally came to San Diego as an undergraduate at UCSD. Then, after working a few years in finance, I met my husband. We got married and moved overseas for 7 years, due to his work. We always knew we’d settle back in San Diego and ultimately found our home in La Jolla. Our 4 year old daughter was born in Hong Kong, where we lived for 5 years (we were in London for the 2 years prior to that).

I started La Jolla Mom because, as an expat, I had a private family blog. It was too time consuming to update family and friends constantly regarding my daughter. It was nice having one place where everyone could check in and see what we were up to. When we moved back to La Jolla, starting a mom blog was suggested to me by several people since I already kind of knew what I was going. So, I did. I had no idea, at the time, what I’d be writing about. The focus of La Jolla Mom right now is travel and cooking with kids. However, it is a lifestyle site covering parenting, travel, cooking with kids, house keeping and local happenings. I also write for the Four Seasons Hotels Have Family Will Travel blog and am the La Jolla Examiner.
